The International Betting Integrity Association released its second quarter 2026 integrity report on July 24. The document records a year-over-year increase in suspicious betting alerts across global markets.
The association logged 76 alerts during the period, compared with 69 in the same quarter of 2025. European markets accounted for 25 of the notifications, while South America recorded 17. North America and Asia each reported three alerts, Africa registered 11, and Oceania contributed a single case.
Sport Distribution and World Cup Findings
Football generated the highest volume of alerts, representing 33 percent of the total with 25 cases. Esports followed with 16 alerts, accounting for 21 percent, while basketball made up 13 percent with 10 reports. The quarterly review also covered the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where officials identified no suspicious betting activity or potential match manipulation across 104 fixtures.
"The FIFA Integrity Task Force provided a strong framework during the FIFA World Cup 2026 for sharing intelligence and coordinating responses," said Liam Rich, senior integrity manager at FIFA. The organization plans to maintain this collaborative structure for upcoming competitions.
