The UK Gambling Commission announced the initiative on Friday, inviting operators and suppliers to propose measures that simplify regulatory compliance. Stakeholders may submit recommendations until 25 September 2026 to address administrative requirements across the British gambling market.
The regulator’s request covers the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice, technical standards, statements of principles and overlapping compliance duties. Industry participants are asked to identify procedures that have become outdated or disproportionate, alongside suggestions to improve the commission’s internal workflows and communication methods.
Each submission must use a standardised form that outlines the current regulatory position and defines how the proposed change would be measured.
Submission Guidelines and Review Scope
The initiative operates outside formal consultation procedures, with priority given to recommendations that align with the regulator’s current resource capacity. Proposals that fall outside the commission’s jurisdiction will be redirected to the relevant authorities. The review will not consider items already under assessment, including matters from the recent Gambling Act Review and the associated white paper. Financial risk assessments are expected to remain excluded while the regulator evaluates pilot trial results. The submission window follows the release of the 2026-27 Business Plan in April, which outlined commitments to support consumer-focused innovation, update stakeholder guidance, digitise licensing services and reduce data reporting requirements where possible. The commission plans to discuss initial submissions at the Operators Engagement Forum on 2 July 2026.
